Dispositivo reaproveita baterias de celulares descartados

 Device reuses discarded cell phone batteries

A empresa sul-coreana Enlighten desenvolveu um aparelho que reutiliza a bateria dos celulares que não são mais usados pelos usuários e as transforma em uma espécie de carregador portátil de energia.

O dispositivo é compatível com qualquer tipo de bateria e pode carregar desde smartphones até tablets, câmeras digitais e relógios inteligentes. Segundo a empresa, a maioria das baterias descartadas ainda possuem 80% de vida útil mesmo após dois anos de uso.

The South Korean company Enlighten developed a device that reuses the battery of mobile phones that are no longer used by the users and turns them into a kind of portable power charger.

The device is compatible with any type of battery and can charge from smartphones to tablets, digital cameras and smart watches. According to the company, most discarded batteries still have 80% of life even after two years of use.

Devido aos metais pesados contidos em sua composição, as pilhas portáteis que usamos para o controle remoto e demais aparelhos de energia intermitente representam um grande problema ao meio ambiente quando descartadas de maneira incorreta.

Por esse motivo, muitas iniciativas tem surgido para criar pilhas mais eco-friendly. Em 2007, foram lançadas, por exemplo, pilhas japonesas que podiam ser recarregadas com líquidos e duravam até dez anos. Entretanto, uma nova invenção promete pilhas que duram “para sempre”.

A inovação, batizada de Pilo, consiste em pilhas AA recarregadas por meio da energia cinética e com vida útil cem vezes maior que as tradicionais. Assim, é só sacudir a Pilo por três segundos para que ela seja recarregada. Além disso, por estar livre de substâncias prejudiciais para o meio ambiente, a Pilo é limpa e pode ser reciclada.

Segundo, Nicolas Topper, CEO da startup francesa criadora, a ideia que deu origem à Pilo foi muito simples: Topper precisava ligar sua TV em um dia que não tinha nenhuma pilha funcionando. Esse tipo de bateria recarregada por energia cinética já existe há algum tempo, entretanto, Pilo se destaca por ter reduzindo o tempo do movimento necessário.

O projeto foi apresentado na Paris Founders Event, um evento de inovação que ocorre na França no final de julho e, no início do mês de outubro, já começou a ser comercializado. A pré-encomenda da Pilo pode ser feita pelo site oficial da empresa e tem o custo de dez euros. Os fabricantes prometem que a cobrança só será feita quando o produto for entregue.
